A quick update on us...

I should be finishing a paper but I thought I would take a few moments to update everyone on Our lives. We spend so much time informing you about the great milestones in Maile's life that I compeltely forget about ours. :)

We will both be graduating this year. I will be graduating in August with a degree in Recreation Management and Youth Leadership and Sean will be graduating in December with a degree in Biology with a minor in Business. He will be walking with me in August, anyone who wants to share the excitement is welcome! I believe the date is August 15...I will have to check on that. We will both be done with our on-campus classes in June. We are so excited.

We are starting the job hunt and aiming for somewhere around Salt Lake. This way Sean will be able to continue with his job while he goes back to school for his MBA in a few years (After some great work experience). We are excited for this next chapter in our lives! If anyone knows of a job up Sean's ally just let us know! :)

Sorry this is so short but I have to turn this paper is due by midnight and I hope to be sleeping well before that time. :)

A tooth?

It seems that today Maile is beginning to cut her very first tooth! Hooray!

We will keep you all posted with pictured once the pearly white really starts to show up.

Spaghetti

Maile had her first introduction to Spaghetti a few days ago and it was so cute that today I documented the moment and want to share. Holy Cute!

She is getting funnier and funnier everyday! She stands up to everything, walks around the furniture and when she feels like it lets go, but of course when she realizes she is standing by herself, she falls down. haha. So funny.

She is making all sorts of sounds like "bda, da da, ma ma, bla bla, la la, dy dy dy...mmm" etc. We are pretty sure she is going to be master musician.

She also follows us everywhere. If one of us leaves the room, she is sure to crawl right after us to make sure she doesn't get left out of any fun. Maybe when she is older we can lead her to the sink and she can help with dishes!

These are some pictures from the last month. Sorry there aren't too many. Our camera was full so we've only taken a few. I'll empty it out and then take more! And a cute little video. Maile is getting so grown up! The following is a list of things she is now doing:

• Sitting up with no support (since 4 months)
• Sitting up from laying down (since 7 months)
• Rolling over (since 3-4ish months)
  
• Eating solid foods(since 4 months)
• Making a million noises all the time (new ones since 5 months)
  
• Eating finger foods (since 6-7 months)
• Clapping (7-8 months)
• Dancing to music (7-8 months)
  
• Standing up to the couch and Everything else!! (8 months)
  
• Moving around things while holding on tightly(8 months)
• Having separation anxiety...every time we walk out of the room or are not within sight. (8 months)
  
• Growing a little more hair (a long process :)

She is getting all grown up, she now eats (all by herself) cheerios, string beans, cheese cubes, and anything else she can get her hands on, which things are not always edible. The baby proofing stage has begun.

We have had a great past few months and now a month into the semester. All three of us are learning new things everyday, but the most exciting ones are Maile's.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone!

We are finally finished with Finals (Sean is at the testing center taking his last one now). I feel like a huge burden has been taken from my shoulders. I can finally sit, relax and play with my wonderful family. It feels like Christmas.

We put our Christmas tree up a week and a half ago and love it! It makes our little apartment feel so warm and cozy. I will post a picture later today.

Maile is growing like a weed, but is much much sweeter. At her six month appointment she weighed in at 19 lbs, pushing her into the 95% again. haha. She has since grown even more. She was 26 1/2 inches long, making the 75% mark and her head is just normal, they don't count cheeks. :) Our little angel has been learning so many new things. Though she started sitting up at 4.5 months, she now does it with all the confidence in the world, bending every which way and scooting on her bum. She loves to move. We know it won't be long before she is crawling. These days she gets around by tipping herself over and rolling to her destination, which is usually anything that isn't one of her toys. Haha.
She is learning a whole slew of new noises. little screeches, grunts, laughs, giggles, blowing bubbles and and just talking to her self. She hasn't said "mama" or "dada" yet but we are working on it.
She loves hide and seek and getting "attacked" with kisses and a big hug from both Sean and I. She is always able to make us laugh. She has the biggest and cutest smile and we love seeing in taking up her whole face.
We have been trying new techniques for helping her get to sleep on her own and our plan is to get it down by the end of break. She is a good sport and learning quickly. She loves sleeping on her belly. We will lay her down at night on her back and in the morning she is sleeping on her tummy, with her little bum in the air. So funny. I will have to get a picture of that too.
As always, she is a good eater. She loves squash, applesauce, cereal, bananas, cheerios, celery sticks, juice, and anything else she can get her hands on. And she gets her hands on it, that is for sure. We usually transport her directly from the high chair to the tub. Where she plays with her toys and splashes everywhere.

We are planning on a fun day over at Hannah and Tom's house this Saturday! Naomi, Art and Hyrum are coming too! We are going to make Nisu a Finnish sweet bread, eat dinner, and play games. I am so excited. With everything having been so busy it will be nice to just spend time with family and enjoy this wonderful season. Maile will be happy too, Hannah's girls always get a laugh out of her.
